Title I, Part A, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires that Title I schools engage all parents and family members through various programs, activities, and procedures. These schools are required to create a School-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy in accordance with Section 1116(a) of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which is the reauthorization of ESEA. This policy sets expectations and goals for effective parent and family involvement at the school level. Additionally, the District must formulate a District-level Parent and Family Engagement Policy as specified in ESSA. Both the District and Title I schools have developed these plans. The Board of Education will consider approval of the District and Site Level Parent & Family Engagement Policies at the June 18, 2024, Board of Education meeting. |
