Summary
:
The School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) provide information to allow parents and the community to evaluate and compare schools for student achievement, environment, resources and demographics. Per Education Code Section 35256, the governing board of a district will ensure that a SARC for each school in the district is prepared. The contents of the SARC must include demographic information; school safety and climate for learning; academic data; school completion; class size; teacher and staff information; curriculum and instruction; post-secondary preparation; and fiscal and expenditure data. A significant portion of the SARC data is pre-populated by the California Department of Education based on the many data submissions to the State. Translation of the SARC is also provided when 15% or more of the students in the school speak a primary language other than English.
