Summary: Under Section 10403 et seq. of the California Elections Code, it is appropriate for the Board to request consolidation of the election with any and all other elections to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and to request the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters (the "County Registrar") to perform certain election services for the District. The Board hereby orders an election and submits to the electors of the District the question of whether general obligation bonds of the District shall be issued and sold in the principal amount of $212 Million for the purposes described in the ballot measure approved under Section 3 and attached hereto as Exhibit A (Full Text of the Measure) and Exhibit B (Abbreviated Ballot Measure), and paying costs incident thereto. The Resolution constitutes the order of the District to call such election and shall constitute the "specifications of the election order" pursuant to Education Code Section 5322.
Funding: The estimated election cost is between $373,000 - $478,000. If the bond measure is approved in the election, the election costs may be reimbursed from bond proceeds. If not approved, then the election costs may be paid by the general fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended the Board of Education adopt Resolution 2024-64.
